Yoga, Açaí Bowls, and Grocery Shopping in Australia

Today, while exploring Surfers Paradise, I stumbled upon a cute little yoga studio and decided to take a class. The class was held at Chameleon New Age Hair Salon, and I really enjoyed both the experience and the unique space. At only 10 AUD, it was a great value and a fun way to spend part of my day.

Being able to do yoga and unwind after adjusting to a different time zone, spending more than 20 hours on a plane, and unpacking all of my belongings really helped me relax and feel more at ease. It was a very calming experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Surfers Paradise.

After yoga, I tried an açaí bowl for the first time and spent some time running errands along the main strip. Eventually, I realized I couldn't keep eating out for every meal, so I needed to buy some groceries. That meant riding the tram for the first time and heading to the mall.

One thing I quickly noticed is that Kmart and Target in Australia are very different from their American counterparts. The stores are extremely clean and organized, but they offer fewer product choices and don't carry much food beyond snacks and candy. After realizing I wasn't going to find what I needed there, I headed to Coles and picked up my groceries.

Grocery shopping in Australia is a very different experience from shopping in the United States. Most of the brands are unfamiliar, there are fewer options to choose from, and the overall cost of groceries is higher than I expected. While I'm enjoying all of the new experiences that come with living abroad, if there's one thing I miss from home, it's the convenience and familiarity of shopping in a grocery store where I already know exactly what to expect.
