Exploring the Bundall Farmers Market

It was a beautiful autumn Sunday, and I had heard about a farmers market in the Surfers Paradise area, so I decided to check it out for myself.

The market is located on the mainland side of the Surfers Paradise suburb. Getting there from my apartment took about 40 minutes on foot, although it's only an 11-minute drive by car. To get there, I took the tram to Cypress Avenue, turned onto Elkhorn Avenue, crossed the Surfers Paradise-Chevron Island Bridge, walked across Chevron Island along Thomas Drive, and then crossed another bridge to the mainland. From there, I turned left and followed the road to the Surfers Paradise Arts Centre, where the market is held.

Every Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Bundall Farmers Market at The Arts Centre Gold Coast comes alive with local farmers, artisans, and vendors offering a wide variety of fresh produce and gourmet foods to both residents and visitors.

The market is packed with everything from fresh organic, biodynamic, and conventionally grown produce to freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, locally roasted coffee, and delicious baked goods. Visitors can also find nuts, seeds, olives, tapenades, herbs, freshly caught seafood, artisan breads, and a variety of cheeses and specialty foods. On top of that, local musicians provide live entertainment, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The market grounds are located next to Evandale Lake, which provides a beautiful setting for visitors to sit, relax, and enjoy their purchases. There is also a playground nearby, making it a great destination for families.

While I was there, I picked up a few things, including fresh lemons, a gluten-free doughnut, local honey, a necklace, and a freshly squeezed orange slushie.

My favorite purchases were definitely the necklace, the doughnut, and the orange slushie. The doughnut was delicious, and the fresh orange juice slushie was the perfect refreshing treat on a warm morning.

After making my purchases, I found a spot by Evandale Lake to enjoy my breakfast. Sitting by the water with the Surfers Paradise skyline in the background made for a picture-perfect morning. Between the fresh food, live music, beautiful scenery, and relaxed atmosphere, it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Overall, my visit to the Bundall Farmers Market was a great experience. It gave me the chance to support local businesses, enjoy fresh food, and explore another part of the Gold Coast. I'll definitely be returning in the future.
