Tour of Griffith University & More Beach
I started the day off early and went to the beach for most of the day just relaxing and exploring. I actually got to see more of the marine life they had there. While I was in the water a few fish swam up to me and they're pretty easy to see when you're in the water and then later on my walk I ran into a huge blue jelly fish, which was probably the size of a plate. This is why they say in Australia, "Only swim where there are flags and life guards and don't forget to read the signs!" Later on in the day I got back to my apartment and got ready to tour Griffith University which is where I'll be studying during my time in Australia. To get to Griffith we took the tram which only took about 20 to 25 minutes. While on the Griffith campus I spotted my first huge spider in a massive web and a few minutes later my second one! Overall, I liked the Griffith Campus. The only difference it has from Marist is that it's a lot bigger in size which will take some time getting used to. One thing I learned while I was touring Griffith that was interesting to me was that in Australia is doesn't really matter where you went to college like it does in the USA. People just really want to know where you went to high school. Australians are also more loyal to their high school friends because in Australia people don't really go far for college and stay close to home. Even their college applications are different and sound a lot easier making me wish my college apps were that easy. At the end of the tour I got to learn the Australian sports cheer which was Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!!! So far off to a good start!
