Day trip to Brisbane

Today my KEI group and I went to take a day trip to Brisbane. All of us have been to Brisbane before but only because that's where the airport is. None of us actually got the chance to actually walk around Brisbane and explore the city. Brisbane is the capital of and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia. Brisbane's metropolitan area has a population of 2.35 million. One of the oldest cities in Australia, Brisbane was founded upon the ancient homelands of the indigenous Turrbal and Jagera peoples. The trip there was almost two hours and I had to switch my modes of transportation three times. I took the tram, a bus, and the train. Once we finally got to Brisbane we walked through China town in search of the markets. Unfortunately, there were no markets that day for reasons unknown to myself and the group. Since the markets weren't open we walked through the city and did some sight seeing. Since I went to Brisbane during the weekend it wasn't that crowded or busy at all. Compared to the cities I've been to this one was quite, tame, and relaxed. The reason why it's not crowed on the weekends is because it's super crowded during the week because its a big place that people commute to for work. During the time I was in Brisbane I got to see the ferris wheel, the Story Bridge and Kurilpa Bridge, the Queensland Museum, the Brisbane sign, the city botanical gardens, and the City Hall Clock Tower. My favorite part of the trip was going inside the City Hall Clock Tower. When you're all the way at the top you can see the city of Brisbane from a birds eye view (about 76 metres high). The building is considered one of Brisbane's finest. The building has been used for royal receptions, pageants, orchestral concerts, civic greetings, flower shows, school graduations and political meetings. We ended our time there at Southbank were we all took pictures with the Brisbane sign. After a long day in the city we all headed home getting back on the train, bus, and tram!

Tip: Most people who have never heard of Brisbane pronounce it Bris-Bane but it's supposed to be pronounced like Bris-Bin :)
